Marie: I made a mistake and just resent your message.
When did Greg die? I'm sure a lot of fellow classmates, like myself, don't know what happened.

Greg died in October 2006 in a horrific hotel fire.  He had just returned from the Phillipines where he was married.  Greg's family waited to have the memorial in hopes that his wife and child would be able to come to the United States.... but it didn't happen.  There were quite a few people there given the length since his death.  Thanks for asking.

Marie:
I'm so sorry to hear that story. My memory of Greg is of a cool guy who was a great musician. He just seemed like a person of the times, so 60's, if you know what I mean.
So sad to hear his death was so violent.
Deborah

Thanks for your thoughts, Deb.  Greg and I had kept in touch over the years.  How are you doing?  Where are you at?  Marshalltown or other?  I'm in Des Moines and also have a lake home at Holiday Lake where I spend most of my time in the summer.

My husband and I live in Northwest Indiana -- We built our dream house in 2000 right on a small  lake and love it here. Life is good and we can't complain. I still am working as a newspaper reporter and Jim just retired as a teacher. He still coaches at the college level.
Our kids -- Chris, 23, is working in Austin, Texas for IBM after graduating last year from college. He's just recently engaged.
Alexandra, 19, is a sophomore at Purdue and wants to be a doctor.

I am so sorry to hear about Greg.  He was a great guy! I certainly agree with Deb as I thought he was a perfectly typical 60's guy, a sweetheart and a great musician.

So Bobbi:  Hello!  Are you still in Marshalltown or where has life taken you?  Are you planning on attending the reunion?  The verdict is still 'out' for me.

Very sorry to hear about Greg.  It was a joy to go through school with him, he always was so upbeat and smiling.  Always was curious about his secret to that.
